SYNOPSIS
Bette receives a crushing blow when the NEA pulls its
funding of her 'Art of Dissent' exhibit due to its political tone. This
further widens her rift with Tina, who now becomes the sole breadwinner of
the family when she goes to work for Helena as a movie studio executive. On
the radio, Alice continues obsessing over Dana and discusses her experiments
with psychotropic drugs, much to her producer's concern. As the new manager
of The Planet, Billie Blaikie wants to expand the clientele, which means not
only reinventing the menu but taking a personal interest in some of the
waiting staff - which leads Kit to wonder what other surprises he has up his
sleeve. When Jenny pulls into Hollywood, Shane and Carmen are taken by
surprise by Moira, Jenny's new butch girlfriend, while Moira finds herself
out of place in Jenny's world. Dana and Lara make plans to go to Paris just
as Dana's doctor recommends a more thorough series of tests after examining
Dana's lump. Shane opens her own hair stylist business at WAX, Venice
Beach's coolest new skate shop.
